Brother took a loan & absconding, Notice from Dist Magistrat

   Hello,
My brother who stays in a rented house in Hyderabad and does not stay with us since 8 years had taken a loan from some people for his business and has incurred losses. He is now abscoding. We (me & my dad) had no idea about his loans until the lenders came up to my house inquiring about him. We informed them that he does not stay with us since many years and we have no idea about the loans that he has taken from them.
We have give in leading news papers a notcie about my brother stating that he is no longer associated with us since 8 years and we are not responsible for whatever mischef he does in the society.
The lenders started harrassing us, to that we gave a police complaint against them. Now they have stopped harrasing us. Today on our address we got a notice in the name of my brother sent through a magistrate. We declined taking the notice from the post man, saying that the person on the notice does not stay here since 8 years and we are not liable to accpet this notice.
Kindly help me understand what is the procedure to be followed in this case. Kindly let me know if I have to take any action against the notice. I still donot know who is the person behind who has sent that notice. Kindly advice.

   dear sir,
you need not to accept these notices as these belongs to your brother not to you and your father
