I have bought a TV in 2017 after getting the loan approved by a finance company. After a month or so, I got a call from the finance company asking me to submit the documents again. I asked them for the reason and what happened to my documents including the blank signed cheque. I have not got any satisfactory reply. I asked them to give back my documents and get fresh documents from me for which they disagreed. I asked them to give me in writing through official letter that if in future my documents are misused, they will take responsibility. Even for this they were not ready. I wanted to safeguard my position, they just wanted me to give fresh documents and take the risk of old documents. I refused. They used to call me every six months and ask for the same documents and I used to ask them for a letter about my documents which they have misplaced.
Suddenly, two amounts around 2500 and 3500 each started getting debited from my bank account for the last three months which I noticed only yesterday. First installment of 2500 was collected by collection boy which I paid thinking that they might have got my documents back. I requested the guy to give me the documents which he forwarded to me. To my surprise, I found that they have sold a TV to someone with same name as mine (Initials, age, father name, mother name, spouse name are different), raised an invoice, signed with forged signatures all the documents and submitted the ECS form. Can I take any legal action.
