Save the daughter, educate the daughter (Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao)was formed in the year 2015. It is a fact that across the country the number of females per thousand males is aged zero to six. In India girl’s education statistics is low and the female literacy rate significantly lower than the world average of 79.7 percent. Education is an essential component for the growth of a nation and educating girls still continue to be an issue in India. The literacy rate of women, according to the 2011 census, is 64.46 percent while the male literacy rate is 82.14 percent  

The low female literacy rate has had a dramatically negative impact on Family planning and population stabilization effort in India. Kerala is that have the largest number of literate women in India  (92 percent). The largest number of literate girls other top states in  India are Mizoram (89.4 percent), Lakshadweep (88.2 percent), Tripura (83.1 percent) and Goa (82 percent). simultaneously, Karnataka, Kerala, and West Bengal, Tamil Nadu Andhra Pradesh have the largest number of women entrepreneurs in the nation.

 Rajasthan is the states that include the lowest female literacy numbers (52.66 percent), followed by Bihar (53.33 percent), Jharkhand (56.21 percent) and Jammu and Kashmir (58.01 percent). Though there has been a considerable growth in the number of literate women in the past few years, the number still falls low for the entire nation.

The government of Uttar Pradesh aims to provide a monetary incentive of 30,000 rupees to female students who have an outstanding performance in intermediate or equivalent state examinations.

UNICEF is also working with the government of  India to provide quality education for girls. As a result, Bihar has now given more priority to girls’ education. A new program has been launched in Bihar which mainly focuses on education for daughters and thousands of girls are now attending school.  The School of Jharkhand Education has decided to distribute free textbooks, uniforms, and notebooks to all girl students from grades nine through twelve.
