is complaint made of crime committed 10 yrs ago be valid

if a victim of rape,desertation makes a complaint of the crime commited almost 10 yrs back will the police take her complaint and will the court accept the victims complaint.as i myself m a victim.the accused who is my neighbour and religious heads son raped me in 2009 n on basis of that incident he forced me into submission later he also promised me marriage by swearing on quran of which i have a recording.he deserted me wen i informed him of my pregnancy.so i approached his father who happens to be my guruji.but being poerful they forced me n my parents to get rid of the baby.i was then 4 mnths pregnant.so i registered my case to the N.H.R.C,who forwarded my case to the sp of vadodara.my statement was taken by the police in mid week of jan 2012 the accused gave his statement in march 2012.all this while they again beibg influential brought pressure on me and my family thru various sources i.e senior police officials.politician and the goons as well.so i had committed suicide on april 9th 2012 but unfortunately i survived.i was left with no choice but to COMPROMISE as per their wishes.the accused gave a written apology which my family accepted though i didnt.as it does not support the nature of complaint made to N.H.R.C.i cant go ahead without my familys support.i am penniless.so i thaught if i become a criminal lawyer myself which will need 5 yrs so after being a lawyer myself can i be my own lawyer.i might sound absurd and filmy,i dont know the limitations of a lawyer and the laws as well.kindly guide me.

In the context of your case, file a Criminal Writ petition in the High Court.You have to be brave to fight the case. I have to see all the development that has taken place to come at some conclusion.
