The Bar Council of India has decided to pay stipend of Rs. 5000/- to new advocates who are suffering in their initial stage of career. The time limit of this stipend is limited to 5 years.
This resolution was passed by BCI through a joint meeting which held at Delhi. The members of this legal meeting were the legal representatives of State Bar Councils and State Bar Associations.
In this joint meeting, lots of schemes and proposals for lawyers are discussed and at last they reach the conclusion of providing the stipend. This decision can be lined with the Legal Service Authority Act, 1987.
Those who will receive the stipend needs to provide legal aid to those unable to afford. The resolution also called for making necessary amendments in Legal Service Authority Act.
